• Fabric. At least 2 metres for size 34 person. Maybe a bit more, at least 1 meter for skirt and about 1/2 of meter for the top and also if you have lining and some spare one because you can never lay it out like you want. Some people cut the pattern first and then go to the shop and try to lay it all out if the amount is enough.
• Lining fabric. Can be a part of fabric but count with that.
• Hidden zipper. About 30-40 centimeter long. It should get from under your shoulder to you hip. Take longer if, you're not sure you can always make it shorter.
• Pattern making paper. 
• Pencil, ruler and scissors.
• Thread.

• find the right fabric. Anything flowery, colorfull or springish in any way is good. If you are not sure about the fabric being right it should be a bit thicker but not too hard so that it just falls nicely. Also you can also ask the lady in the shop. Or you can try and on the label they sometimes call it "dress fabric".
• find the pattern. Focus on the upper half of the pattern, how it looks like. You should like the look of the dress, also the upper half should be separate from the bottom part and sewed around the bellybutton line. If you don't know where to find the pattern, there are few magazines on the market dedicated to patterns, also most of the shops that sell fabrics also sell patterns or can advise you on a place where you can buy one. Also internet and e-shops are always here.
• buy a pattern paper, so that you can copy your pattern out and work with it and put the original away so that you can reuse it. Or any paper could work, but the specialized papers for pattern making are semitransparent so that you could easilly copy it out of the original.

Baste it

This is the time where you should baste it so it won't slip away. Make that roll around the edge and make sure that the hem will be 1 centimeter wide everywhere.

After you cut out your waistband you baste it to the front of the skirt. Remember that front side goes with front side.
Important fact:
Always baste it on front first because you want the parts that are showing to look the best while the parts that are not showing do not necesarilly have to look the best.

 After you flip the waistband it should look like this:

After you have that basted sew it normally with classical stitching. With front part sewed press the sewing in the middle so the stitching will look the best.

Baste tthe back part to the front in the way that the back will cover the stitches as it is shown on the picture below.

Then sew it and press it.
Haute couture tip:
To make the waistband look the best sew it front side up and through the stitches that are joining the waistband and the skirt. This will hide the stitches used to sew the back of the waistband and it will not be seen on the skirt.

 You can see that needle copies the stitches used for sewing the skirt(on the left) and the waistband (on the right off the picture).

You can press it to make it look better.
In the end you have only sewing the button and button hole left.

Button hole
You can make the button hole without sewing machine with a specific stitching but that is too difficult in opposition to using the special presser foot for buttons. It looks like the one on the pictures below.
The priciple is to put the button in the back of the press foot and then the sewing machine does the rest.

Helpful tip: 

If you are not sure how to use the press foot fot buttons try it out on piece of spare fabric first before sewing on the waistband.

Some of the sewing machines have special arm that halps the sewing machine determine how big the button hole should be.

Zadný diel vyzerá v podstate rovnako ako predný, ale rozdelili sme ho na dve časti, ktoré budeme zošívať spolu, takže nezabudnite pridať centimeter na pravý okraj rovnako ako na ostatné strany.

After creating both the designs it is good to curve the upper part of the design since people normally are more roundish:)

Po vytvorení obidvoch je dobré trošku zaobliť vrch sukne.

For creating this you just measure about 1 or 2 centimeters from the edge of design and create a line from that point to the edge. Mine is about 10 centimeters long. You can create it as long as you want, just make sure that every one of them is the same length as the others.
Aby sme vytvorili toto zaoblenie odmeriame asi 1 alebo 2 centimetre od okraja strihu a spravíme čiaru z odmeraného bodu až ku okraju. Môže byť akokoľvek dlhá, moja je 10 centimetrov dlhá, nech si ju spravíte akokoľvek dlhú ubezpečte sa, že všetky sú rovnako dlhé.

That would be it, dont forget to add 1 centimeter for seam allowance and fold the paper design to make sure it has the right size.

To by bolo všetko nezabudnite pridať centimeter na okrajoch aby ste mali ako zošiť jednotlivé diely.

When you add the seam allowance on the paper design you can move the pieces to each ther closely saving place on fabric.

Keď pridáte centimeter na zošívanie už na papieri, môžte poukladať strih na látku bližšie k sebe a ušetriť tým látku.
